AI Metadata Cleaner
Terms of Use
Terms for using the free browser-based AI Metadata Cleaner.
Last updated: August 31, 2026
By using AI Metadata Cleaner, you agree to these Terms of Use.
Permitted Use
You may use the site to inspect and process image files that you own, are authorized to use, or are otherwise legally permitted to process.
Do not use the service to violate privacy rights, intellectual-property rights, contractual restrictions, court orders, platform rules, or applicable law.
Your Files and Backups
You are responsible for keeping your original files and backups. Metadata can include valuable copyright, caption, archival, workflow, accessibility, and provenance information. Cleaning should normally be performed on a copy rather than the only master file.
No Guarantee of Complete Metadata Removal
Image formats and metadata ecosystems are complex. A file may contain proprietary structures, unknown application data, unsupported MakerNotes, embedded resources, steganographic information, invisible watermarks, or metadata that the current tool does not recognize.
The service may report which supported metadata categories were removed or remain, but it does not guarantee that every possible hidden signal has been eliminated.
No Authenticity Guarantee
Metadata inspection does not determine whether an image is genuine, AI-generated, edited, deceptive, or trustworthy. Metadata can be missing, modified, copied, or generated by software.
C2PA validation and similar provenance checks should be understood as verification of supported credential structures and trust information, not a universal truth detector.
Quality and Format Changes
Where possible, metadata-only cleaning should preserve image data. Some operations or formats may require re-encoding, conversion, normalization, or browser-specific processing. The interface should disclose material changes before they occur.
Service Availability
We may change, suspend, limit, or discontinue tools or supported formats. Browser capabilities, third-party libraries, standards, and operating systems can also affect functionality.
Intellectual Property
The website design, original written content, branding, and software are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws except where third-party components or source materials are separately licensed.
References to EXIF, XMP, IPTC, C2PA, Content Credentials, SynthID, Apple, Google, Microsoft, Meta, and other marks are for descriptive and educational purposes. Their respective owners retain their rights.
Prohibited Interference
Do not intentionally disrupt the service, bypass technical limits, inject malicious content, probe systems without authorization, or use automated traffic in a way that harms availability for others.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. We do not promise uninterrupted operation, support for every image, complete removal of every metadata type, or suitability for forensic, legal, medical, evidentiary, or regulatory purposes.
Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, AI Metadata Cleaner and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the service, loss of metadata, loss of files, reliance on tool results, or third-party platform behavior.
Changes
We may update these terms as the service changes. Continued use after an updated version is published constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.
